Beat me to it. They're always lookin out for us, or anyone with a modded car, or anything really. They've got tons of info, legal and otherwise.

That is a BS ticket, but when I asked the cop about it, he said that vehicles made after 1980-something needs to have 3 lights in the back. I haven't had a chance to look up the CVC number yet to make sure.

I've been to 850 plenty times. Normally i dont see police try to pull anyone over around there. The cops are usually there for a reason besides looking for people w/ illegal mods on their cars.

Wow are you serious? 150?! The CHP told me that if I choose not to fix the tint its like a 60 dollar fine. He also told me that its correctable, but he checked the box that said "no" under correctable, so I guess he flat out lied to me about everything. What an ***.!!

see this is the thing you guys dont understand. chp can put anything and any fine they want but if you file for a court date, anything that is non correctable can be made correctable if you see a judge in person.

ahh i see...

but hes still an *** for lying about the ticket being correctable.

he told me to get it signed off and pay 10 dollars @ 850, but clearly he checked non-correctable. now i have to go to 850 and wait in line, set a court date, see a judge, then pay 10 dollars.

so i say again CHP

I got pulled for a modified exhaust ( 3" straight out with a 3" magnaflow stock style muffler painted black) and I have out of state plates. He was called to another scene, so he just left. Another reason to leave this effed up state.

vehicles made after 1985 and larger vehicles (over 80 inches wide) after 1993 are required to be made with 3rd brake lights.

Apparently its a national law.

And apparently it must be functioning. I still think its a bullcrap deal. I saw a truck a couple days ago up close and personal as I almost tagged him with NO brake lights. Pull that guy over. Cop should have just informed you that it was out. If it was 2 or 3 out then ticket but just one. It could have gone out 10 minutes ago and you didn't know.

There is a law that can be used for just about everything these days. Its ridiculous.

Its also illegal to modify your tail lights in any way but I see mustangs EVERYDAY with blacked out tail lights and I do mean everyday.

I was followed by many police officers in Saratoga today and the 85. No problems, but I did just black out my Greddy Evo 2 CBE.

I think just lucky.....and I have a wagon.

Interesting interview with the police in San Diego regarding many of the topics we have been discussing:
