Bay Area Photographers...again...
I just found out that a couple of friends of mine are getting married in July. They don't have a photographer, and they are working on the other aspects of the wedding.
I'd love to help them out and photograph their wedding for them, then present a nice enlargement of the two of them as a gift, but I'm not sure what lenses I'm going to need to accomplish this task.
Right now, I only have my Nikon D300 and two lenses:
18-200mm
70-200mm f/2.8
I'm not looking to purchase a bunch of lenses, or spend a LOT of money on lenses that I won't be using much other than the occasional family/social event.
Any suggestions?

... but I don't know how much you're willing to spend. Maybe you can rent one for the weekend so you don't have to buy one right away? It's supposed to be a really great lens.

IMO the 28-70 or the new 24-70 would be too tight on a 1.5x crop body for a wedding. i don't know what your budget is, but i'll start naming lenses off LOL!!!
17-55/2.8 (DX) or 14-24/2.8 or 17-35/2.8
105/2.8 micro
50/1.4 or 85/1.4
SB800 or SB600
nice to have, but not necessary:
10.5/2.8
lensbaby
holga
a backup camera
