Miguel, I doubt the kid knows enough about cars to really determine that. LOL

Motor swaps are expensive and if you didn't know jack sh*t about what's going in your car. The mechanics can easily dupe you out of your money. This is where research pays off, not assumptions.

Type R badges are meant for Honda Civic Type R's, NSX Type R's, and Integra Type R's (or Acura Integra Type R's here in the states). Most importantly, on REAL Type R's. Hehe. I don't believe this story man. Well, whoever's going to meet up with this guy, take photos, lots of 'em. Sorry dude, I just ain't buyin' what you're telling me and I find it kinda humorous.

please some post pix of this motor swap. if this motor swap is true and it's a 330 originally, you could have easily bought an E46 M3.

Wowa, calm down dude.

E46,

DO you know what a WRX engine looks like and what a type of configuration it is in. Also why would you want to swap engines anyways? What is wrong with the E46 engine that you had in the car? You know the BMW engines have potential and there is a company called Dinan Engineering that can work on your E46 motor.

Not to put you down or seem rude, but you should have done your research before doing anything. Because it seems like the swap that you did was ridiculous and really expensive. Considering that the swap I did on my RS was already 7K. The swap that you did must have at least been like 20k. With all the labor, parts and custom made parts. To me it just does not seem logical at all as to what you did.

Adobo
You can swap any engine into any car as long as the year of the motors is more current than the year of the chassis.

<snip..>
Aren't we all.

I wish I'd saved the 2.2 turbo four from my GLHS Omni. It had more horsepower than the 3.0 liter motor in my Taurus. I could have swapped it into the Taurus to make a Fordodge Omnivaurus.

Sorry I won't be able to attend this meet, but I think I will stay home and pick the bugs out of the intercooler.

its funny that you guys mention doing swaps...People do f**k around with BMW's though...If you do a search on www.dtmpower.net you will find info about someone who put a supra motor in an E34 chassis which is an 89-95 BMW 5-series...

so is it possible...YES
...is it likely..NO

and plus the supra is a RWD car like the BMW...the Subaru is not...

Curious.

Question to E46 WRX Type R.......Is it really an E46 or you were told by the seller that it is an E46? Just wondering. By the way, welcome to Bay Area i-Club.
