Bay Area: How do you choose a Doctor or a Dentist?
This subject comes up a bit here and there. Everyone usually agrees that the only real way is to find the one who's name you can best pronounce and go from there. I moved, and either way I am sort of tired of my current Dr.
Also, if someone has any recommendations for a Dr. or a Dentist in the San Bruno or Pacifica/HMB area - let me know!

i found mine through 1800dentist.
Only thing is it's just a site/phone call for a listing of dentists who pay the membership fee to advertise through the 1800dentist website.
As for the actual dentist, I haven't seen her much lol. Only seen her through the first visit, since she has hygienists who do the teeth cleaning and whatnot.

This method works best for me.

I don't know about San Bruno/ Pacifica. I'm in S.F. and I have a dentist who I've been seeing since I've had all my adult teeth come in, and he's absolutely amazing. His name is Dr. Russell Young. He also sees my entire family. PM me if you have any questions. He does great work and you'll feel nothing when he does his manual scaling. Unlike a lot of stories I hear from friends where the dentist sucks and pokes at your gums all day.

Take a look at the doctor or dentists website and see what you can find for recommendations through Yelp and other sites. I had to do this when I moved and the dentist I used to use I no longer could use because he was not part of the Dental Plan that my company used. I found another dentist that I really like, but I'm with a new company now and I couldn't use that dentist right now either (I am going to go back in one of these days to see what I can do to use that dentist again as he's really good and the dental staff is filled with a couple cute girls).
