Bay area F1 fans????

hey guys, I never see any threads in the motorsports section on F1. I know from my 4 years in america that most people seem to follow Nascar and IRL..are there any F1 fans out there???

BTW..gas in England just hit $8.20 a gallon equivalent...!

Yep I follow F1.

$8+ a gallon is pricey for sure, I would just use C16 daily if I moved back

I've followed F1 for about six years now. Unfortunately in the states we have to pay for a channel such as SPEED in order to watch F1, and even when we do, we either have to tape most of the races, or get up at 4 in the morning to watch them. Until F1 is televised on a free station like CART, IRL, and NASCAR, it will never be popular.

Regarding gas prices, those in the UK pay that much because a large portion of the cost of each gallon goes to various taxes. So at least the extra expense of each gallon goes towards something meaningful such as road repair, environmental cleanup, etc. Here in the states almost all the money goes to corrupt corporations with only a small amount going to taxes.

I am one of the freaks who wake up at 4 AM to watch, but I usually fall back to sleep after the start then watch the tape. We need Eurosport channel here really bad!

I took into account the 17% difference in gallon size. Now you know why we all drive 4 bangers over there...funny thing is, people still drive just as much..what's the alternative???

It's been a great season so far (US Farce aside)....can't wait to see what the introduction of V8's next season will do to shake up the grid....Toyota look to be a major player for future seasons. I feel sorry for poor old Kimi and his bad luck.
