Bay Area BMW shop recommendation?

I am looking for a BMW service shop located around Berkeley or Fremont.

Also, what's the "i-club" for bay area bmw owners?

The power steering and gas gauge need to get checked on my sister's 2001 325i. Anyone have experience with BMW's power steering not working? or gas gauge that doesn't accurately read once it's below 1/4 tank? The power steering has gotten weaker over time, so it's likely not the belt suddenly breaking or something like that, and it tried refilling the fluid, which didn't help. Car has 135k miles btw.

Any suggestions for independent BMW service in the Santa Rosa area? My mom's X5 needs the 90/100K service. I've found GS Tuning (Good Stuff Auto), but was looking for personal recommendations.

That's great, but I'm looking for somewhere in Santa Rosa to take it. Thanks for the recommendation though!

When I had my 635csi I was pretty much exclusively dealing with Bavarian Professionals in Berkeley on 7th behind Pyramid Brewery. Good guys who really know their stuff.

As for clubs, BMWCCA is probably the biggest and best marque enthusiast organization in the country, Golden Gate Chapter runs autocrosses and track days all the time, and their newsletter- Roundel is one of, if not the best car magazine in the country too.

+1 for Bavarian; used to take my 328i there. Also H&B just down the road was also good. I'd recommend either, though I think Bavarian just pips them for overall experience.

Just got my X5 inspection II done yesterday. Also had my E39 inspection II done by them 2 years ago. Very trust worthy and the price is right. Tell them Darryl with the E46 M3 and X5 referred you!

My good friend works at H&B

None of this helps me and my folks up here in the North Bay though. Anyone have any experiences with independent BMW mechanics up here?

Is Kronen Tuning still going in fremont?

My homie Art owns that place but I haven't talked to him in a minute.

GS Tuning uses us a lot for their parts, but I'd also recommend Tillman's out on Guerneville Rd. on the western edge of Santa Rosa. They are very thorough, and very knowledgeable with their work...
