So, look what I got last night. I went to the Bold Release Event last night at the Bentley Reserve in the city and everyone who attended got one of these as a gift. I can tell you that this phone is a HUGE improvement over the Curve. The software and speed is incredible! The WiFi is awesome and the screen is amazing. The speed of moving from application to application is lightening fast compared to anything else out there. I would have bought one of these anyway. This is the best RIM device yet. And no, I don't work for the company.
The official release date is November 4th. I'm not sure but, I think you can pre-order them now though. I'm more than likely wrong though. I was invited to go to the party by our account rep at work. I've never been to something like this so I didn't know what to expect. What we got was an open fully stocked bar with all sorts of food. I can tell you it was pretty amazing.
Sorry for the crappy pics, all I had was my phone at the time.
Cheers,
Bill

Although the new Bold is the only BlackBerry I would consider getting or possibly the new Samsung i788 BlackJackIII aka Epix or whatever it will be called. Both phones look promising.

After a few days of using the Bold, I can say with certainty that it's amazing. The 3G is fast but, the WiFi is faster! The HTML email is a giant leap over my Curve. All in all, it's an amazing phone. To actually call this a phone is really a huge understatement though. It's more of a hand held mini computer than a phone. The functions on the phone are just so much easier to use since the transitions are faster due to the processor. Oh, and the media player is much improved as well. Plus, you get a cool M3 commercial as a sample video as well. That was a pleasant surprise!
Yeah, I'm geeking out a bit I guess. As for the going rate on the Bold, my AT&T rep said that they will start at $300 for a two year commitment. She didn't say how much they will be if bought out right.
Oh, and my new PIN is 20879BDA.

Man, you guys and your complex phones...
I used to love my palm pilot phone and old blackberry... One day I just got sick of it all... I realized that its a phone, not a friggin laptop that you can talk into.
I switched to the most basic flip phone that verizon offers and I couldn't be any happier.
