the bartender still hates you

I blacked out on patron shots at the Vault bcs my friend of a friend was a DC stripper and my friend kept on pulling her shirt down. We were a party of like 10 and he gave us shots all night. I also was dressed as a Mexican with one of those ridiculous sombreros from Chevy's in downtown SJ. Pleasantly surprised I wasn't hate-stabbed.That was an interesting night.

can i ask the tenders
when at the bar sometimes a beer is say 3.50 would you be pissed if i left a $1 and the two quarters?
when tipping i always feel like scum leaving change and always round it to the dollar
... so what is it? and what about just leaving the 2 quarters? for a 3.50 beer?
reason i ask is cause i HATE CHANGE!

IME, tipping the bartenders will almost always be worth it. Especially if it's a very busy night, or if the bartender seem to be stressed/in a bad mood. I've had a couple times before where a $10 or $20 tip means you'll be served first every time you come up to the bar. A couple times it becomes a free drink or two, along with the good service.
Same goes in places where they serve you the drinks, tipping well gets the attention of the waiter/server at the least. If you have ladies in your group or at the next table, then
I have a friend who decided to give a $100 tip once.....from what I've heard, he got his money's worth, and then some
Hopefully you get more than just the tip in hehehe

This definitely reminds of Reservoir Dogs...
I tip $1 per mixed drink (captain and coke / vodka tonic)
Beers are weird, I tip based off their price... if its 4 bucks, i'll make it an even 5. if its 3.50, they get a 50 cent tip per beer and if they are good they will get an extra dollar added to that every 3 or 4 beers.
I dont really drink Martini's or anything that takes time to make, if i do, its at a specialty bar and those are like 2 dollars for every 3.
If im sitting at the bar, i just leave my tip there in front of me, if they **** up. im taking a dollar out of their pile. I'm totally quick to knock a dollar off a tip per **** up or something I didnt like. I also TELL people when they **** up, and they usually dont repeat. I also tip extra dollars when they do something extra. I also always tip the price of the drink when I get free ones... Its totally cheaper tipping full price for a free drink, and bar tenders definitely remember you.
