[QUOTE=Lurk;1868733]There's no "best gun" or whatever. Guns are tools, just pick the right one for the job and one that you feel comfortable with. Some people like Glocks, some people like 1911's. I'm one of those that likes the traditional all steel frame 1911 in .45acp. You can't really go wrong with one of those. And they'll hurt alot more than some tupperware Glock if you happen to run out of ammo and have to resort to using your gun as a club.
I have used my 1911 as an impact weapon when I use to patrol the "Iron Triangle" in the city of Richmond. The front slide serrations on my custom 1911 did a number on the 459 (residential) suspect's face when he tried to hop a fence that I was standing on the opposite side.
If you had to hit someone with a Glock, then strike with the top portion of the of the slide. The front sight can cause lacerations if used properly.

There's a cool place in Pacifica called City Arms... It's run by a guy named Dimitry, he's my FFL... He can basically get you anything.
My advice is to buy online, then have them transfer to your FFL dealer (like Dimitry) and then pick it up from him.

How much is he charging for transfers? I bought my first Glock from him. By far my favorite gun shop.
It doesn't even feel like one when you walk in. No pressure at all. Well, except for 'Uncle V's" Philippines story about nothing but .45 being able to stop them because they were on drugs back in the war.
