I'm, uh, going to the meet, and will probably have a friend roll my 2nd car, since the whole point of the yearly meet is getting all of our cars in one place; however the show gets done is fine, whether my hoopty is a part of it or not. If one of my cars is supposed to be someplace, cool - otherwise my two girls will be chillin' where they fit in. I'm not super-detailing a 270k daily driver, lol - it's not a show car, it's a survivor. It was nice to be nominated
Everyone here builds up their car the way they want to, and I don't think anyone is picking "show cars". I can understand trying to run the show with a smaller group of cars - trying to get a vote that's conclusive on 400 cars is near-impossible, and the guys putting on the meet want to enjoy it, not tally votes all day
Oh, obligatory wagon car show pic. Best SUV, Mazda Extreme Street Laguna Seca show. I was in it for the infield parking.
That means it's award-winning, right?

^^^^^ Truth. People love the wagon (which is cool and makes me happy, for sure), but Dan's bugeye had a ton of work put into it by him and him alone, which made it even more awesome. He won because his car was ****in' bad and street driven, not because he e-pimped the forums.
Technically, any car show turns into a popularity context on some level. You can't distinguish the person from the car because knowing the person means knowing the story behind the car. Int. B's car is clean and subtle (I'd almost make the stretch to sleeper) - to most people, it looks like a standard car with a few mods - to the community that knows him, it's so much more.
It's not a popularity contest, it's a group of enthusiasts who know what's gone into every car

Car Info: A crazy ass wagon ! Voltex and 18x9.5 +22 FTW !
not many people know me personally... the old weds night eggettes crew... the "aggressive fitment" guys.. and the sat RS meet people and my awesome neighbor Gus. I have talked with alot of people online, but I have yet to meet most of you guys/gals on the form in person and i have a few votes.. so MAYBE its not just a popularity contest?
