Buying a big *** TV for my living room. Im debating on either the 65" Mitsubishi, 60" Mitsubishi or the 60" LG.
Anyone have any pros/cons? Im expecting Gagan to post here...

LOL, I don't regret it.
LED backlit is energy efficient and slim but by far not the best pic...
i picked up a 2nd gen Kuro and i have yet to see any TV surpass it's pic quality or touch it's black levels.

Personally I'd pick LED>LCD>new plasma> old plasma
I have a Sony kdl v5100 and the LCD is great. Very dark black scenes but boot up is slow.
My friend has the new 600hertz panasonic plasma and it's decent but I can still see burn images or frozen images.
LED = great!

It depends on what you really use the tv and how often you do it
plasmas are great for movies with a lot of motion and or darker scenes and gaming it really can't be beat
the new pany is good for it's price but if you can go for the Kuro
there is still some stock available of the PDP-6020 and jump on it while they last
LED's are great but have issues with halo effects and don't do blacks as well as plasma
the local dimming 8500 samsung has this issue and is discontinued from the manufacturer.
wait till march/april until the new models come out and they should have the issue reduced considerably.
don't forget 3D tvs are also on the horizon but will be a baby technology possibly with bugs, even though they will be the latest & greatest

As much as the Plasma guys will argue that their "blacks" are "blacker", overall the difference (especially now) are very minimal and the newest LCD models kick some serious ***.
I have a 46" (dude, 60" is crazy because our 46" is already huge!) bravia (can't remember the model but we paid a little more and upgraded to the better LCD model) LCD and it kicks some serious ***! If you're a gamer (and I know you're the true blood of gamer folk) you're going to love the LCD TVs. Sure, you might have 99% of great picture and plasma will give you that 100%, but the TVs are better in terms of long-run and overall. You don't have to worry about the "video game burn-in" that plasmas have to worry about (You can't play mario more than 1 hour on my in-laws high end plasma that they got in 2008 without it burning into the screen!!!). I play a lot of games on our TV with great brightness, blacks that are very black, and no worry about burning into the screen as well as long term reliability.
They have had their TV for a little over 2 years now and it's already starting to dim a bit. The TV repair guy said they will need to recharge their TV in a couple of years which sucks BIG TIME. They keep their TV on all day for the kids in the day and for the adults in the evening, so it's on from 6am to like 10pm every day, on-and-off, but they use it a lot, but the fact that they have to recharge it soon is lame and NOT something I want to deal with anytime soon.
That's my not-so-gagan advice and I hope you find the right TV. There's a lot to choose from out there, so choose wisely /Indian Jones

BTW, out of the 6 of us that went to best buy to buy the 46" TV that day (yes, 6 of us showed up, but for various reasons), and 0 out of the 6 of us were really able to tell the difference between the high end plasma and the high end LCD.
I don't have stock in LCD TVs, nor do I care what company gets your money, I'm just trying to help you in your quest to buy a good TV for what you're going to be using it for. Out of all 6 of us that were there, we couldn't think of a single thing that the plasma did better than the LCD did when compared to equal blu-ray movies. We stood there for a good 10 mins trying to see what difference the famous plasma picture would prevail over the new LCD's, and we couldn't come up with one single thing that would sway us to buy an plasma over an LCD, and vice versa. If the Plasma would have had the long run durability of the LCD, we would have bought that instead. We had no bias and we didn't care what brand/model we bought, as long as it the benefits outweighed the negatives and the LCD won by a long shot.
Ask them to set you up for a "blindfold test" at the store where they will cover up the signs and let you decide for yourself. Apparently this happens very often and apparently the LCD is the picture of choice.
Also let it be known that the pictures we saw were all TV's that have been "tuned", or whatever you call it. They had experts come in and tweak the picture to where it's "optimal", as well as pictures that were not tuned at all. It makes quite a difference to have your TV optimized/tuned/tweaked btw. You'll see what I'm talking about when you're at bestbuy/frys/etc. I recommend checking best buy for the TV's as your first spot because they have a very good variety of great TVs, and TV's that have been optimized and ones that haven't so you can see the diff between all the TVs. Even if you dont plan on buying from them, check them out because they have a great variety of TVs and such.
