BAIC Chefs: BAIC Cook Off Meet, winners get cool prizes, interest?
I was thinking about this last night, I know we have some REALLY good cooks here in BAIC (If BAM 9 wasn't proof enough, the guys cooking did a GREAT job), so what would be better then to have a large organized meet somewhere so that we could have a cooking competition amongst our BAIC chefs/cooks?
It'd be simple, we'd have teams of 2 people sign up for the competition, we'd have some basic theme for what they can cook, and winners would win some prizes. We could get vendors to sponsor the event (for prizes), and all spectators would get free food and help in the judging process.
This would be a great for everyone who likes to cook, and for those who like to eat.
This is just gauging interest, so no solid info yet. Who would be interested?
Rough basic rules:
1. Teams of 2
2. BBQ oriented (a BBQ will be your primary source of heat, charcoal or propane)
3. Pre-selected food, so chefs would have to do an Iron Chef type cookoff, where there is a primary ingredient, lets use ribs just as an example, so the cooks would have to cook ribs, but they can do ANYTHING they want to them.
4. Chefs would have to make enough so that EVERYONE attending can taste their food
5. We can have a few unbiased judges, and have the audience as the final judge.
Rules are pretty simple and straight forward.
If you guys really want, if we do this before Xmas, or sometime near, we can have a secret santa gift exchange at the said meet, put a $15 or so tap on the gift, and exchange gifts during the cookoff.
Please respond if you're interested in cooking, or if you're interested in attending and being an audience judge. We'll probably have to aim for sometime in Jan (next month) since Xmas is hard to aim for since most people wont even be around.
So lets hear it from our BAIC cooks/chefs! I know for a fact that we have some really phenomenal cooks on board, what better way then to share it with everyone?
We'd have to depend on vendors to supply any sort of prizes, and in return the vendors will get full recognition for their support. The meet would be free to everyone.
What do you guys think? We can call this our Winter Cookoff Meet.![Smilie](https://www.i-club.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
