Since 04SubieWRX is "the man with plan," it seems like he's gone back to Plan A. I dunno if The Block was ruled out per se... we just haven't gotten any updates on talks w/ 'em. I've PM'd OneManArmy & he's hoping to get more info this week. Gonna see if 'so steezy' found out anything yet, too, since I re-read this damn thread last nite to see if we missed anything.

For Heavenly tix, I posted a "discount" a bit ago. We can pre-purchase a Direct-to-Lift dealio for $70 (vs. up to $86 for walk-up )... http://www.skiheavenly.com/tickets_rentals/savemart/.

Ok guys another option has just presented it self! We should stay here http://www.almosthometahoe.com/. Its a large cabin we can all habg out in. If we stay here the trip will be a lot more organized and productive. We can just all have some BBQ there and make all the noise we want..

You guys pick the one u want....i will put a poll..

04SubieWRX: Ha! I was just about to post in here saying that I sent u a PM a bit ago.

As far as changing stuff up, we're still very much in the info-gathering phase so it's good to hear about all the options! From the looks of it, 04caliwrx, you're trying to hook us up w/ some discounted Heavenlty tix! Nice! I was looking @Stn House's site again & they offer a pkg of 3-nites, 2 lift tix (for several resorts) & a $25 dinner voucher for their on-site restaurant. Depending on what "non-pkg" rate they give us (What rate are we getting, btw?) & the ticket price you score, we'll have to see which way saves us more!

I say for the next week or so, we get the full scoop on all our options--lodging, tix, Ken Block & Subaru, etc. We still need to find out fr: the guys looking into The Block. So I dunno if we need to put it up to a poll just yet, but it's good to show what we've got on the plate & for folks to give their thoughts early on. Oh, and their Ponderosa property won't work for our group size, so you'll need to remove that option.

Hopefully when I make my debut @the Fri CoCo meet on the 12th to talk w/ some of y'all in person, we'll have a lotta stuff answered.

And if any of y'all are wondering, the Mountain Home property is $30/nt per head while the Manzanita Lodge is $35/nt per head. Also, they're out near the "Y" so it's about 10min to the casinos. Good thing about 'em is we'll have the entire place to ourselves! And there's lotsa room!

^ i will try to fund out %100 on the price of the lift tickets. The lady I talked to sad that we have to first have the number of people going, also she said it is about $20-30 off

on a side note, like you said we would get free lift tickets and dinner if we stayed at the station house in. That would also save us a lot of money

I guess our choice just comes down to "which convenience" is most important for the entire group.

Stn House or other hotels/motels close to the casino =
... no driving to hit the tables or the clubs for those so inclined
... no driving to the resort (for Heavenly)
... complimentary breakfast (Stn House has a killer breakfast menu)
... discounted (NOT free) lift tix available only w/ pkg deal

Mtn Hm / Manzi Lodge =
... no worries about bothering guests outside our group (imho, kinda important)
... while everyone is together (esp. for watching vids of the day's action ), folks also got their own space
... gotta actually drive to Heavenly, but a li'l less for KW or Sierra (there are shuttles, too, but why'd we buy our Subies again? )

Man, these lists could go on & on. Like I said, we just gotta say what carries more weight in terms of "convenience." Lots to consider, y'all.

are you looking into the group tix they offer according to this price sheet? and are these for 2 days or 3? last one... 20-30 bux off total or each day?

i already mentioned in that last post, but the tix thru Stn House are discounted NOT free. just wanted to make sure no one missed that.
