Don't spend any money having a shop take the tint off, if it comes down to you having to do that.

To take off the tint, you need a few razorblades, a roll of paper towels and some goo-gone. Raise a corner of the tint with a blade, peel off the pieces of tint,(when you get decent at it, you can do it in 1-2 pieces).
Then, spray your window down with the goo-gone, and run the razor blade over the glass, cleaning the blade with each swipe.
It can be a taxing and annoying job, but its easy with some good old fashioned elbow grease and a decent attitude.

Good luck!

You have 3 options....

1. Take it off, get it signed off and leave it off. (BOOOO)
2. Take it off, get it signed off then have it put back on.
3. Depending on how expensive the fine is... just pay the fine and leave it on.

I run the same tint. Have run it on every vehicle I've owned except my caddy.

My tint is 50% front and 15% in the rear. Got a front window tint and no front plate ticket in San Rafael last week..... $221. Just sent in the check today. It's not worth f-ing around with it.

I think all windows the same tint %age looks the best.(minus windshield)

If you don't go super dark, it is not that noticable to police during the day.

My ticket is in direct contradiction to that statement. My tint is the lightest shade other than UV (clear).

This is what my tint looks like.

Yea, but if you had your front tint all around the vehicle, it would be much less noticable.

The really dark rear tint grabs their attention. That was my point.

I have your front tint level all around my vehicle.

I have had it for 2 years and most times i dont even get a second look, this was just some CHP with a chip on his shoulder cruising around in STOP and GO traffic on the way in to financial district yesterday morning.

I wonder if the quota is starting to take effect, its getting near the end of the month.

Is that 35 all the way around? I was thinking of getting 35 on the fronts/rear sides and 20 on the back window.
