Bad things happen to good people??

hey guys i really need your input on this one. 3 days ago i got involved in an accident which is not my fault. my car got rear ended on I80 East bound in San pablo breaking my rear bumper and Exhaust, both are non usable. the good news is that his insurance took full liability on the accident and they are paying for the damages he cost but one thing that bothered me is that they wont replace my rear bumper with OEM bumper instead theyre goin for an aftermarket one, i asked them to replace it with OEM but they refused and said that if i wanted to get the OEM bumper i need to pay the difference thats what i call BS...

so my question is do i go with the aftermarket or pay half price for the OEM??

any opinions is appreciated..

I know I've been told, if you insist on OEM, then insurance should replace with OEM. However, I have no proof to back up this statement. How is your exhaust broken? If it was bent pretty hard, I think it could have bent some under car exhaust mounts or even worse, damaged the turbo.

Good luck, I hope you get the OEM parts.

woah what insurance is that? That sounds wrong. I mean how much are they really saving going with a non oem? Whats the difference in price? I would be pissed!

This was on the news before on KTVU, about insurances having shops replace parts with aftermarket instead of oem, they interviewed a guy who had the same problem, just keep fighting it, eventually you'll win, the only reason they want to do aftermarket is to save money.

Also, just tell them, your bumper was oem and you expect oem because thats what was broken in the accident, not an aftermarket bumper.

It's your choice haha I'd keep fighting if it were mine, they're just scamming you out of your money imo

My suggestion is to take your car to Yeaman Auto Body in Palo Alto, they will replace it with oem no matter what insurance company you go thru, in other words they will do the fighting for you. Talk to Scott, he is the owner and will take great care of you.

Currently at Yeaman are 2 STI's from 2 different I-Clubbers with Insurance work. One is a return customer.
