Hitting a baseball might be tough, but so is being really good at bowling... The competition bowlers are friggin crazy good and it takes MAD skill to do the things that they do, but I still don't consider bowling as a sport, and you have to exert more physical energy in bowling then you do in baseball, of course minus the pitcher and catcher...
In baseball you can stand around for 89% of the time and not do a damn thing, then you come up to bat and strike out, and then do more of nothing, then go stand in the outfield and do more nothing... I just can't consider the players as true athletes... It's more of a game then anything.

And if you strike out 89% of the time and don't make a single play - you aren't playing baseball, sorry. You get benched and kicked off the team. I don't care WHAT league you are in.
I dare you to tell that to any member of the NFL, MLB, TNBA, or JSA.

Chess today is a recognized sport of the International Olympic Committee.
An estimated 605 million people worldwide know how to play chess, and 7.5 million are members of national chess federations, which exist in 160 countries worldwide. This makes chess one of the most popular sports worldwide.
