Lightbulb B of A Keep the Change: Let the 1 cent transactions roll!!

I finally signed up for Bank of Americas keep the change program ( I should have done this MONTHS ago!)

The Keep the Change is rounding up the transaction via checkcard purchase and transferring the difference to savings. For the first 3 months however, they will MATCH you up to $250!!

Needless to say I will doing lots of 1 and 2 cent gas station pumps to speed up the process

haha

its like eating a bag of chips with your lunch...then you run out of chips (so you think) then as you crinkle up your sandwich wrapper, you find a few chips that were hidden under it the whole time...I LOVE THAT FEELING!

<---5 overdraft charges this week *YAY*

Hehe, you guys know that BOA will MATCH 100% for the first 3 months up to $250? So its a free $250 from BOA plus the rounding up of savings.

The key here is to do as many transactions as possible in the first 3 months so you get the most out of BOA, hence the 1 cent transactions.

As many transactions as possible or as much money (up to $250) in transactions. I mean...you'd have to do 100 1 cent transactions for them to give you 1 dollar...my time is worth more than that...

Ummm....no.

Really guys this is not hard to understand, here is how it works:

Charge 1 cent in gas. 1 Dollar is charged to your checking account and 99 cents is transferred to your savings account. If this happens within the first 3 months BOA will MATCH 99 cents.

This works for all transactions. Lets say you go to Starbucks and charge 3.60. 4 dollars is charged and 40 cents is transferred to your savings. Again, if this happens within the first 3 months BOA will MATCH the 40 cents.

Yes, if you are m@d tyte bAllin y0, than this may sound silly. But for me, an additional $250 for doing simple transactions is very beneficial.

ya'll get it????

stop at $50.01 if you want 99 cents added to your savings

You can explain it a million times and some people will still not get it.

I got $170 last year from my 3 months of usage. The card never saw action again afterwards.
