Awesome car @ sears point wed nite drag!

So I went straight from work to Sears Point for wed nite drags all because of one phone call...my friend calls me and says he saw a GT500, i call his bluff and he says he isnt lying of course...so i mash on it in my POS 91 civic going at least 90mph the entire way there from benecia to sonoma just to see this car run (1 of my dream cars) and so i get there and it was sitting there purdy as she could ever be! i spoke to the owner who had his car for about 2wks and he was hella cool too, pretty down to earth guy. my friend with his 96 SHO taurus and i ended up talking to him for hella long and we're going to get some misc ford parts from him too. Anyways so i took a bunch of pictures with my friend's uber 1000$ cannon with telephoto lense or some fancy lense(he had a bunch) and there was also a new GT350H that some lady rented for the day to do what else but race
yea there were a few STis and wrx's but pfft definently not as cool as these 2 cars

what do hood pins normally do on a hood?

It helps keep the hood down incase it flips up for whatever reason while driving and secures it.

saw a few of those runnin around town the other weekend. They were both the black/bronze color. I thought it was just one guy driving the hell out of the car all weekend, but when I saw him going in the opposite direction when I left work, and then saw it again when I got to the mall, I realized there were twins! respectable name (shelby that is) but I still dont like mustangs

I see that black and gold Mustang all over the peninsula, especially 280, 380, 101, 92 area. Is it show or go? And is it a girl sitting in the drivers seat or a dude with a gnarly mullet?

Maybe it isn't the same one.

the black/gold is a shelby GT350h, a Hertz specialty rental car... so you might not see just that one running all over the bay since there are actually several of them that look just like that.

sadly, it costs a lot to rent them and they have a maximum of 50 miles then you have to start paying per mile... and they're automatics with traction control (with no ability to defeat it, I've read). mods like a final drive upgrade, a handling package with sways, springs, etc. make the car perform a bit better. it has about 20hp up on the standard GT.

but the gt350h costs $250 a day!!! I'd rather rent a Charger or some econo box with unlimited miles and track that for 1/6 the price.

I'd rather drive my STi all day for $30 in gas.

the GT350H has a total of 325HP. For all you haters out there...sorry the F-body couldnt survive, GM just sucks and likes to kill their own good cars (ie Grand National) the mustang still has survived so...
