Well, to say the least I'm pretty frustrated with the car (and my driving) right now. It SHOULD be a good 2-3 seconds faster than it is, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

don't get frustrated. The WRX is a difficult beast to drive at the limits. I had a difficult transition from my DSM to the WRX.
You have to be ultra smooth in the WRX to go fast. Even I have problems with this since I could toss the DSM any way I wanted and still be fast.

Ed,
Aren't you still on stock suspension? I find that the WRX is hard as hell to drive fast with all that body roll.. plus the turbo lag and crappy brakes...
no, I really like this car, honest! Just a steep learning curve. Don't forget Chris spent over a season slumming in ESP getting the car sorted.

Nope, I'm on coilovers (JIC) and swaybars now.....basically same suspension that Rob M. has. So you can see why I'm pretty frustrated to be running 1-2 seconds slower than the DS WRX drivers......who I was right up there even with back when I did run DS!
I know that Lorry, Martin and Tim have improved as drivers......so that is part of it......but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect I should be able to run at least even with them in a car that is more prepared when I DID run even with them back when the car was less prepared!
