AUDT: Track Day??

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone is interested in doing a track day where a bunch of us can participate. I know the FFBN meet peeps did something like that recently. I think it is early enough where we can figure out a date for early next year that would be good for everyone. It'd be nice to be able to go track with a bunch I-club peeps.

What do you guys think?

Yeah. I guess I didn't get that point across. I figure a bunch of us would just have to pick a day that would work for us. I know there are 3 or 4 events before the end of the year. It'd be nice to just be able to run with with a bunch of peeps.

Although I wasn't able to attend the Subydude track day in April (due to a conflict with another track day), I heard that it was a lot of fun and pretty well attended. Maybe the dude can be convinced to organize another one? Otherwise, I know the Miata guys in Sac have a few track days at T-Hill per year. We could crash one of those.

Sign up for the same event and you all can drive together. You need a lot of people to cover the cost of a track day.

Yeah. That's kind of the point of this thread. Let's all figure out what day we can run. There a few organizations that do track days. We just have to coordinate and all be on the same page.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I don't think track days are really race related. I think it is more of a spirited driving thing, or that is what I understand at least.

i would rather put $200 in my gas tank and tour Californias backroads...i dont need to test the limit of my car, because im never at the limit...

Autocrosses however mimic everyday driving, such as in the mtns...tight 40 mph turns is what its all about...anyone that needs to go faster than that needs to hit a deer, has too much money into go fast parts, or have a 3rd nut lol

all this typing= me jealous of people who can afford track days

Hopefully SD has something coming up. Would be nice. I think he mentioned something, but forgot what it was exactly.

Yeah I would'nt talk bad about tracking unless you've done it. Once you've tracked your car, to me, autocrosses just don't feel the same. They just dont compare with how fun being on a real track is.
Anyways, I'd be down for a track day at something a little on the cheaper side like T-hill.

Just different types of poisons. Each type of motorsports has its pro's and con's. I know people who say they like auto-x'es better than track days and vice versa. I've never done a track day before and I would like to give it a try. Don't get me wrong, I do like to auto-x and there is nothing wrong with it, but I think the most important thing for me right now is to get as much seat time as I can. I think the other thing that is appealing to me for track days is that in the beginner group, you get an instructor.

My car isn't that fast, but I would like to be able to see what my car can do at speeds faster than that of the street.
