OK, expansion of a few points
First. You gotta get in the box and not fear being beamed.
If you never get in the box, yes you will never get beamed, but at the same time you will also never even get to first base. Sure getting reamed with a 90mph fastball stings and isnt always expected, but like any pro ball player, you gotta shrug it off and get right back into the box next at bat
EVERY ball player gets beamed. Its just part of the game
Second. You gotta learn to make contact
Even if you are thrown into a pro ball game out of the whim, you sure *** hell aint putting one over the green monster, but at least try to get your bat on the ball to get a feel for what its like. Every at bat helps and every time you make contact it helps. Its practice and it helps build confidence. CONFIDENCE is everything. But at the same time, being OVER confident is also a bad thing, thats when you get up there and swing for the moon and miss. Know your limits
Third. Getting on base
Once you gain some confidence and feel like you can step into the box and at least flog some foul *****. Next step is to try to get on base. Sure its not a home run, sure it might not result in any rbis or runs scored, but touching that bag with your foot still feels damn good. Even if you get left on base, its still good to be on the running path

Another valid point. Pro players dont need to work for playing time
If you are actually searching for time out in the field and asking for hand me outs, then you got a lot of work to do
With this being said, you need to go back to the basics and stop trying to hit a home run ever at bat.
First you have to actually get in the box and stand up and not be afraid to get beamed
Second you gotta learn to just make contact
Third you gotta try to get on base
Fourth you gotta be able to put the ball where you want
Fifth you gotta learn the sacrifice fly
Repreat steps 1-5 a few times and report back Kev

Back when I was playing in the minors I tried to juice the system and use some online training for my swing, bad mistake (REAL bad). Can't replace real world practice, online tutorials and youtube aint gonna do **** for you when the bases are loaded in the bottom of the 9th. Only REAL practice and experience can ready you and your nerves for that situation
Same thing goes for artificial stimulants and mind altering drugs. Sure it may SEEM easier, but at the same time your form is ALL off and so is your judgment. That can easily lead to chasing bad pitches into the dirt.
