My G21 holds 13+1 rounds of .45ACP, if you can't shoot someone with 13+1 rounds, you should have a shotgun. Also. since we're in CA, capacity doesn't really play a huge factor into the equation since you're limited to ten rounds anyway, unless like you mentioned and someone has a 1911 which is 7 rounds... But still, if you can't hit someone with 7 round.... well, you know my thoughts on that.
You're the first person I've ever heard talk negatively towards .45 in terms of HD.
Another advantage is it's mass also makes it less likely to go through walls and kill a neighbor.

.45 power advantage is negligible? You should have seen the ballistics testing we did on Frozen turkeys (which were then thawed out), .45HP is NO JOKE, tore a hole bigger than my head out of the back of the turkey. It's a big *** heavy round that does a lot of damage.

I never said 45ACP is a joke; I said 40S&W is not far behind it in stopping power. Both will kill the crap out of you. I also never advised against using it for home defense. I said that quickly and effectively putting rounds on target(s) matters more in a stressful situation (obviously with whatever you are best trained/comfortable with). And I do have a shotgun within easy reach as well
Regarding your capacity comment...IMHO capacity is capacity, even if it +2 more in a G22. I just rather have more in case it is a group of intruders and reload time might mean serious trouble. I also made that as a general comment with SHTF perspective (and having residences outside CA). And over penetration is a concern I have with all rounds if you ask me...what exactly can some siding, insulation and drywall stop exactly?
Firearms are just like cars...different things work for different people. We are all on the same side here.

I had swapped out my standard stock for an adjustable stock with pistol grip. When I took it to class one of the instructors told me that I probably wasn't going to like that grip very much and after a couple of hours I discovered he was correct. Thankfully I'd brought along my standard stock and swapped it during lunch. My wrist and cheek were much happier after the swap.
I wasn't the only one unhappy with the grip but I was the only one that brought a backup so I could make the change.
