Lightbulb ATTN STi wing swappers: Does going wingless/wrx wing ACTUALLY reduce attention?

UPDATE: Well I took the plunge and bought a WRX trunk with small wing.
Whadaya think?

I personally miss the big wing but love the new jdm badges on the wrx trunk.

I haven't noticed a difference in handling, I took one of my favorite junctions at a high speed and the car felt the same, so thats good.

Hopefully this keeps the fuzz off my back!!!

well I don't have an STI myself, but from an outside perspective. Yes, I don't notice regular imprezas as much as the STIs with the wings.

the STI wing I'm sure is great for Rally, but it's pretty "in your face" for normal cars

I've had wingless, WRX, and STi. Didn't notice and difference in the LEO attention I received.

I got really lucky by having a guy with a '06 wrx ask me to trade. Haven't noticed any change in handling since going wingless, and i'm guessing it has to help with staying under the radar cause i have yet to be pulled over in the sti. plus, i think it makes the car look much better imo.

I've been pulled over a few times because of the wing alone so in my opinion you'll get a lot less attention if your exhaust isn't super loud.

the main reason i went with a cf wingless trunk from an sti trunk was because of the wing was right smack in the middle of my rear view mirror... dont know if that bothered anyone else but it was enough to make me swap.

i agree with hengman, the sti wing gets in the way of the rear view mirror

one reason i went with a wrx wing on my sti, plus i like the wrx look too
