I am still alive. Yep, out in AZ... going to guitar building school, got the computer, got the RS. There are some hot chicks here, but I would say Tempe is the place for ladies and I assume that's because of the giant party school along with warm climate.
I've been to a few i-club things out here, but it's not the same without all my BAIC homeboys. I am actual kinda losing interest in modding cars and spending so much money on them. You can thank dorifto for sending this link over to me since I haven't been on the boards too much as of late.
Anyway, I am shooting for an internship in Oakland. Maybe I will come to some meets when I get back in July. I am pretty sure I will be parting out my car at some point though. Wood working tools > mods. Gotta prioritize, plus that noisey, bumpy ride is starting to get on my nerves.
Anyhow, hit me with an email if anything cool is going on: slime@sfrench.org. I am KFCWarrior on AOL IM. Here's some pics of my guitar projects that I will be updating every week: http://www.sfrench.org/rv
If you know someone that will be in the market for a custom hand-built guitar in a few months pass the word on!

Whoa, those are some very cool looking electric bodies. Is that mahogany on the face of one of them? It looks awesome!! What kind of sound are you going for with that particular guitar? What kind of pickup setup do you have in mind?

Thanks, the body is basically a modified warwick dolphin shape (which I have been a fan of for as long as it has existed).
The electric is an Alder Body, Maple neck, and Indian Rosewood fingerboard/body top/headstock top, with abalone inlay. A lot of my ideas about this guitar have changed from when I initially designed it at home to now when I am having to make my plans work with the rules and materials of the school. At the moment I am shooting for the brightness of a strat (maple neck, alder body) with the low end of gibson type guitars (humbuckers, soft indian rosewood) . I'm going to be using two seymour duncan humbuckers but both will have the option to be split to emulate single coil sounds. I'm also going to do some series/parallel stuff and a phase switch but I'm not sure how much that will change the sound. These pickups weren't my first choice (not even my second) but I think they will work okay and really this is just a chance to learn and play with wiring.
The acousitc is bubinga sides and back, spruce top, mahogany neck/guts, and ebony bridge/fingerboard/head cap with pearl inlay.

By the way.. that inlay work on the acoustic around the cutout looks damn good! I am going to get a new guitar soon, but I think I already have it already picked out. When you get back though, I can have my buddy advertise for you around skips or guitar center if you want.
