ATTN South Bay Guys: Anyone Have Lowdown on "9SEC C5" Vette?--Spotted on 101 S
Hey all,
just wondering if any of you South Bay guys have seen or have any 411 on a maroonish, convertible C5 Corvette with license plate, "9SEC C5"? It has some sort of low-pro body kit/hood & some BLING polished wheels (couldn't tell what kind @ freeway speeds).
I saw it on 101 South near the University Drive Exit in Palo Alto. The ride looks (and sounded) really sweet, but I'm curious if it's really a 9 sec car. I did spot a gauge on the A-pillar, so I assume it's boosted. I know 10's are obtainable for street C5's with some work, but 9's seem a little far fetched.
Peace
CL

I'll ask one of my friends, he has a vortech supercharged Z06(running 10psi netting about 550hp and 500lb-ft to the ground) and is pretty much up to speed on the local competition. There's a pair of nasty supercharged maroon C5s I've seen him with at a local vette meet, didnt note their plates though. Both use magnuson charger(a rebadged eaton), one has an aftermarket hood that actually fits the S/C, and the other has a hole in the hood with the supercharger actually sticking out(there's a black vette with the same hole except he put a pair of strengthening bars over it)

Corvetteforums.com is the best one...but I've surfed it and the local Bay Area forum isn't as well-kept as iclub (duh!).
9's are do-able for these cars. 5.7 can be bumped to 7.0 liter, and with a turbo and nitrous you're golden.
Here's part of a photoshoot I did with my dad's vert, some day I may inherit this beast
