I currently go to SJSU and live in the dorms (Joe West). It's alright living in the dorms but there's really not a whole lot to do (besides studying). I live in SSF and always go home during the weekends since it's really boring during the weekends.
The new high rise dorms are going to open in the fall of 2005.

the majority of the students commute to the school, hence it is called a commuter school. i commute there monday through friday on my motorcycle, the wrx doesnt go there often. but if you ever see a white 04 wagon driving around wave at me or something

It basically just also means that the people who go there live somewhat close to the school and are from the area, and they dont have to live on campus or get housing near the shcool. So you dont get the same feel of college life as if you were to go to an out of state school or even a UC. It seems that most CSU's are commuter schools.
