Exclamation ATTN: Possible bad gas; 76 El Camino Real & Grant, Mtn View

Been having problems with knock since Wed when I filled up. Ray (onemanarmy) filled at the same station same day. He too is having simialr problems. Don't fill here!!!!

friend/uncle used to work at stations and tehy both agree that it can happen.


I've experienced it myself at a local 76 as well.

i never get 76 gas. they are crappy compared to shell and i could tell the difference in performance too.

man thats the station i use, dont use the 91, i mix my gas to be safe and 95+

but thanks for the notice, yeah ive learned gas is different at all stations, i never knew, but evaporation rates, water condensation and the mtbe lots of variables. shell and chevron are good choices from what i hear.

so your from mtn view? if you ever see my white wagon at the farm, maybe we can schedule a rally session. i have to clean the dirt, i got a flat from a screw the other day...and got a brand new tire for $33! sweeeeeeet

I love not having to use 91 octane. heheh

If those gas stations get caught doing that sort of shady business the person responsible can and will be sent to prison. They don't mess around with stuff like that.

yeah i have heard of the same thing too. i guess maybe the two that i used to go to just had bad gas cuz my car felt weak compared to the shell gas that i get now.

I filled with 100 octane last night. I Still have big problems!!! I think things are seriously messed up in there. As of four days ago I had no problems .I did my brake swap filled with gas and now the engine seems to be knocking like crazy. I have never heard a WRX knock but it has to be what the noise is. Man I wish Gruppe-s was open today. Anyone available to diagnose knock?

Well, luckily there's a Chevron station right across the street.

(But then again, my car knocks on any gas...)
