ATTN: North Bay Peeps p. II (the back road weekend morning meet thread strikes baic)
Alrighty then. I'm starting this thread to organize a monthly or bi-monthly Saturday or Sunday morning North Bay back road drive. Something off the beaten path that starts early and perhaps meets at a coffee shop or breakfast spot out in the middle of nowhere. Something that leaves us with the rest of the day free to spend quality time with our significant others or whatever else consumes our weekends. Something a little fast. A little twisty. But not dangerous for ourselves or the others that we share the road with. And doesn't upset the neighbors!
Now, I don't know the roads up here that well (since I just moved up here) but I'm willing to spend some quality time pouring over maps and test driving routes.
Bushido, you seem to know things up here pretty well. Maybe I'll bring a couple of maps to the Wine Country meet.
Who's interested?

I'm in.
Weekends, especially during the day, are a poor idea at best due to the amount of cyclists on the road. At night would be the best to avoid cyclists and the authorities. All things being equal, a ticket is better than running some cyclist(s) over.

The only time in my life i hit a animal while driving was at night. It was a deer that was on a ledge 4 feet above the road. At the last second the thing came out of the bushes and jumped infront of my car. The left front just hit the back hip of the deer who ran off into the woods without a trace. But if it had been light outside that poor deer wouldn't have a limp.

This whole week i'm on vacation with nothing to do , so i went on that loop run i've been mentioning this morning. Starting from the Cheese Factory on the Petaluma / Nicacio road. The loop as great running just over 52 miles longs with a combonation of fast straights hard breaking corners... the works. I'll show you a map on Sunday then all we have to do is pick the date. If you want to try it out for yourself first i can get you details of roads etc...

This thread shouldn't be aloud to fall so far down the board. I found it just about to slip onto the forth page. After this weekend we should have the date and time for the first early morning weekend rally ride. The track is already picked out and trust me it's "sweet". Most of it is out in cow country. Very little traffic and even fewer bikes, except for one stretch apon Hwy1 but that doesn't last too long.
I can't wait.
