Ya, you screwed yourself by admitting guilt. I would still do a trial by written declaration though. Going to court will only waste even more of your time. They will see nothing but another young kid with a fast car.
Even if you plead no contest, do it through the mail. Write up a real nice "I am sorry, I won't do it again" and send it in. Only difference is you ahve to pay the fine first.
I guess it comes down to this; pay now and do a written declaration hoping they lower it after the fact (or the cop does not do his paperwork), or go to court and hope they show mercy (or the cop doesn't show up)

lol that's crazy....
i just got a ticket this morning (4am) on the way to buttonwillow on HWY 5....
96 in a 70. he didnt write me up for wreckless and kept it at an infraction so i was happy. he had me on radar. I was taking my chances, no excuses here lol
