Why did they replace the HDD if it was working fine before?
Anyway, at no point in this thread does the OP say that the old drive has any physical problems. Therefore, there is no need for data recovery. All the data is just sitting there on the old drive perfectly fine and ready to be accessed. Throw it in an enclosure and transfer the data to your new internal HDD

I don't know why they replaced it. It was running a little slow but I think all it needed was a defrag run on it. But hell who knows man.
Good news though. I was installing fonts and getting the hard drive set up for time machine and stuff like that. Went through my external and found the honeymoon photos. Not sure if it's all of them but it sure looks like it. There are photos from every location... even LA on our way through.
But I would still like to get everything off of it and hell maybe use it as a portable external to house my itunes music. Crap takes up too much hard drive space. Trying to keep it ALL off the laptop.
