No matter what weekend we pick, there is always going to be some conflict with someone's schedule, you just can't avoid it no matter what. you do.

I want to make sure there are no big events and such on that day. It will fall on a day that has the least amount of stuff going on.

I think it's more fitting to say that getting a spot that would be typically cooler (temperature-wise, that is) was a better idea, which is one of the reasons for picking Quarry Lakes & why lotsa folks are siding w/ Stafford Lake in Novato. But wrong thread for this discussion. Btw, Hi Daniel.

DING! DING! DING!

Exactly. Out of the hundreds of i-clubbers who'd want to attend, several dozens will have some sort of scheduling issue. That's life.

All we can do is to those who miss out. I keed... I keed.

yes it was! I also heard that 2 people lost out on $1000 cause the place was changed. I still think we should do this at the lake.

I guess ya missed my post a couple above yours. If we do end up in Novato, we will be at the lake.

Back on topic... anyone else know of major events on 9 Aug that us i-clubbers might be attending instead?

Wait, what lake are you guys talking about? And what about the lake?

Are you saying that quarry lakes was a better idea?

Biggest issue with quarry lakes is that it's dead smack in the center of Fremont, and that means there are a lot of cops itching to pwn you for everything. It's also not very nice in terms of scenery like Hammy and the North Bay is.

Can you guys clarify.

I definitely agree! I don't want those 2 people to lose out on the $1000 deposit for Quarry Lakes either....I wouldn't feel right attending the event anywhere else.

Kelly, so did these 2 individuals in fact lose out on funds? And how? Because this is all new to me.

brucelee: Sorry we're off-topic again, bud.

I think X Games Rally X is on that day, but it shouldn't make a difference.

I don't know.....I just don't want to screw anyone over. The loss was mentioned earlier in the thread.

To rent quarry lakes is NOT $1000, not even close. To rent a HUUUUGE picnic area it is $140 total. I don't know where anyone got $1000! I can rent the whole Joseph D Grant park (Hammy), the WHOLE entire park for less then $500. (or maybe a little more then $500).

I don't know who told you guys $1000, and you can't lose out on a deposit, a deposit is a deposit, if you bail you get your money back but have to pay tax or something.

Also, what event are you guys talking about? Who supposedly put a $1000 reserve on quarry lakes? For what purpose? Does it fall on the same day as the annual event?

I'm so lost here. Please someone fill me in (and I mean that in the most heterosexual way possible)
