since you have an 8260 im guessing you weren't on the gsm network, AT&T is gonna phase out the tdma network, so if your contract is over, i suggest changing to a newer gsm network phone.... positiive things, your number will store on your sim card, so if the phone breaks, you just take the sim card and transfer everything to the new phone.... and you dont have to change your number if you change phones, assuming your phone contract is over... gluck man, i have a lot of at&t hook ups, ill see if any of them have a spare phone for ya... gluck

 

oh and if you dont mind going to a really crappy phone... i may have my old 5120 lying around here somewhere

 

I have an 8260 with some lame green water face plate and a duct tape back up for grabs if you want it. Yea, and if you can, I would HIGHLY recomend upgrading to a GSM network compatible phone and upgrading your plan to a GSM plan, it will be much better and cheaper in the long run.

 

I lub my 8260, its served me well after numerous encounters with walls and even though Ive dropped it a few times. It doesnt seem like ATT has any cool phones right now though other than the 6560.

Anyone know if ATT lets you trade old phones in for new ones?

 

I have 2 ATTWS panasonic phones...one newer one (2 years old) and an older ont (3 years old).

Does your 8260 power on at all? If it does I can still get the #'s ou of it. You can give me a call at the AT&T in Los Gatos, ask for Jim and I'll see what I can do for you if you need a new phone.

There are NO trade-ins if you already have AT&T service, if you don't we give $50 off a new phone.

The TDMA network will be around for quite awhile, so there isn't any rush to get into a GSM phone, the GSM are very cool phones with a ton of features.

As far as cool phones, AT&T has the largest sleection of phones of all the wireless carriers, and we-re only getting more.

 

8260 didn't use sim card...

yup, that's correct. (Though I did check for a sim card the day the phone broke in the vain hope of finding one. I was wishing fervently to be proven wrong but alas...)

 

ohh sorry, I thought all AT&T phones used sim cards.
