anyone know of a race car for rent?
Hey guys, I wanna get a SCCA competition license, but I need a car to pass the license school in. Anyone have a SCCA legal car for rent or some such? I already called some of the regular rental places, their prices seem a bit steep - 1200$ of rental on a car thats worth ~7-8k total!
Also if anyone has a helmet or a suit for sale/rent (SCCA approved) - I'd hit that too - just trying to start racing on the cheap!

thanks for the tips. i am looking through the wheel and I talked to Larry.
It still seems that 1200-1600 for 3 days (~6 hours of tracktime) is a little high for a car thats worth 5000-9000$ dollars to buy. I was wondering more if someone new of a car that was a little cheaper to rent - like one of the racers not using one this weekend or somethig. Just looking for options and my bank account :-)

I'm not sure if you knew, but Larry has people paying that much $$$ day in-day out, and has been doing it for years, so he def. knows what he's doing.
Good luck in finding a seat!
