Unhappy anyone have a spare (04) STi gauge cluster collecting dust???

i finally brought the car into the dealership to figure out what went fubar with my gauge cluster.

long story short: while trying to dust the cluster face (while i was stopped, engine running though), the entire thing just died. although all the idiot lights in it are working, speedo, tach, fuel gauge and temp gauge are deader than disco.

i'm looked at all fuses and they seem to be okay (specifically #12 and 13).

now, worse case scenario, is that entire cluster needs to be replaced.

you got one laying around? for cheap?

or has anyone priced a new one lately? (shudder...)

you never checked the wiring harness in the back? hehe, my guess is that they never installed the connector all the way and eventually it shook loose.

good thing they found the cause of the problem tho! saved u a good 5 large ones if in fact u needed to replace it.

well since the car was out of warranty, it still cost me...

at least i'm gonna write a nasty letter to SOA trying to get some money back, if not all...

when i took the dash cluster apart on my toyota truck, the 4 massive connectors were tighter than a ... well you know what. and used positive locking mechanism.

i just cant imagine something this sloppy was overlooked...
