Anyone have a hookup on I-pods?

I'm leaving the country for a while, and I really, REALLY don't want to carry 500 CD's with me. The problem is, I'm on a budget, thus me starting this thread. Anyone?

u can get it for like $235 at schools with ID. I know somebody that works for a computer shop and sells them for that price as well. But with what soundwave said, I'd also look into the Dell Jukebox player. Holds 15 GB and has a long battery life than the ipod.

The dell spiel looks really cool, but I don't think I'd recieve it in time... I leave on July 12th, and their website says "Usually ships in 1 - 2 weeks".

Actually, the Creative lab Zen Xtra is 30GB and it's 250 on sale at amazon. People say the headphone jacks break... anyone have experience with this?

Yeah, I thought about that... I know target sells them for about $40-50... I guess its better than spending $300...

Talking

So your taking off just after the Mt. Ham. meet eh? ;D
The creative labs are cheap, but they are not that good of quality and the UI SUCKS (couple different friends have nomads, old and new)!

Check http://www.craigslist.org since its local for ipods.

Other great alternatives are the sony minidisc player, but you get around 50 hours on a single AA battery. Check it out:

You may also want to take a look at what Archos has to offer, they are kind of big and bulky but are pretty inexpensive.

I would also recommend checking on some review sites to see what people are saying about different players.

I for one do not own an mp3 player other then my home brew PVR(www.mysettopbox.tv) and the Alpine deck in my car. If I were to get one I would probably try out an ipod. If I were on a budget I would probably go for the dell player since it has great bang for its buck.

Good luck making your decision!

Weird. When I read this topic, my first thought was, "hm... i-pods? Rally light pods for an Impreza? Maybe try Sube Sports."
