Rapid Prototyping FTW

I did my Master in Rapid Prototyping this is seriously the coolest thing ever.. This system is pretty sweet nice and small.. The oppertunities are endless with this type of technology.

The military have large systems where they can make metal parts on the spot. Its amazing all you need is the Raw material and Boom you have a new part.. Talk about inventory reduction..

Also saw guys making actual pumping artieries with RP or 3D Printing now thats cool...

wwell for making tissue and human organs (i dont think they are at organs yet). They use a old school ink jet printer, and fill the ink cartriage with tissue cells, and to give the tissue depth, they just print over and over on the same spot.

I just today was holding an artificial knee replacement piece that was DMLS fab'd stainless steel.

Most of the parts I usually need require better dimensional control than the desktop 3D printer can output so we deal with outfits like this:

Nowadays you can get just about anything you can model in the computer turned out in just about any material you can imagine in a matter of just a couple of days, in many cases just hours, hard to imagine how we used to get by 15-20 years ago when a prototype meant several weeks of machine shop and fabrication time.
