Anyone know who drove the Silver STi that was passing everyone in HPDE 4 today?
It was ridiculously fast. The driver went into the hot pits to check something out under the hood once during the second to last or last session. I could hear the external wastegate from the stands, and I saw its FMIC with my binoculars. It had something still using the air from the hood scoop though... perhaps its owner rerouted some sort of oil cooler or radiator there?
I believe the STi in question had a King of Imports sticker on it. It was passing Porsches, Vettes, M3's, S2000's, and basically everyone else who was on the track except the Radical Sport Racer. LOL.

smurf - PSM '03 Sedan on P1's looking stock with the number 1 on it duct tape style and occasionally instructor X. Most other times/tracks cept Laguna, yellow Celica #57. That looks like a Head-On pic, they do awesome work. I have a poster of my WRX from that day on my wall.

I'm not sure who it was. It had the scoop, but underneath the hood (when they popped it) I saw some metal piece where the TMIC was. So I looked, and sure enough, there was a FMIC barely visible.
The car was clean and had a bunch of stickers on it. It also had an externally-wastegated turbo and was probably doing about 120mph into the braking zone of turn 10.

If I remember right, around 1000 lbs and powered by a 4-cyl Yamaha motorcycle engine. Idea being that it is "entry level" racing where you can buy a competitive car with spares for about $20K.
