Anyone get scared of buying things from Nasioc?

Nasioc is a pretty great place to buy WRX parts, they have countless parts for sale all around the country. Sometimes they have a wider selection than i-club . But I just kind of stumbled upon this "scammer central" and I read some of the stories and I just got hella scared about buying stuff from people across the country! Anyone feel the same way?

We should have one here, maybe that'll scare away more people from selling stuff without giving some knowledge about the item. Although usually it's a buyer/seller error, I think some sellers should have some integrity to know about the product rather than just stickin' it to the buyers =P

It's not even that. It's people REALLY getting screwed over. Money sent, no product. Simple as that.

For us though, it's mostly local folks, so transactions don't go as bad as they possibly could

go ahead and read my post in the Deadbolt turbo thread in vendor reviews. I think the proof is in the pudding and has been since 2005 when that Vendor ripped me off.

SSFWRX of course is my handle and its at the bottom of the page as of now. I hate that SOB.

they did....after I paid for a rebuild on a turbo that should have been rebuilt for free. Actually a turbo that should have been built right the first time not needing a rebuild. Jerks at best.

You think NASIOC is bad... Don't go to craigslist then...

It seems kinda weird that there would be scammers among members... I usually try to do my shopping in person, If I have to get something long distance I either go to a credible site or set up a dialog with the seller...

The thing with Craigslist, you might have a flaker, that's not as bad as sending the money to someone, and not getting the product. At least with craigslist, time and maybe gas might've been wasted, but money is still safe and sound in your pocket

I haven't purchase anything from a private seller for a LONG time. But if I do, I would only do it with local folks...

when i buy from nasioc i make sure they have good rating and have been a member for a while already before even buying it, checking their past posts and what not. so far 42+ here and 30+ there and no problems.

Usually I am scared to buy things off big forums unless they are local but I have bought several things off nasioc and have been fine. I even bought my Recaro seat from some random guy in NY off nasioc and he shipped it to Texas no problem..just bought my equal length header and catch can off nasioc too with no problems. Usually I try to see what their other posts are and itrader and stuff like that.
