anyone ever been on this road?
off I-5 at the patterson exit.
2 weeks ago, i went 4 wheeling (with my truck...) and the road to get to this place is like 2 lane, twisties.
the best part is that from I-5, you can reach san jose to alum rock road (from what i hear. the spot where we go wheeling is 17 miles from the I-5 and i always go home by backtracking towards I-5).
when i went there, saturday morning, i saw 3 cars. although 1 was a sheriff's pickup.
there were some curves that my truck tires were screaming.
update: just rechecked my map. it's
hwy 130 and it connects to mt hamilton ...

Del Peuerto is one of my favorite roads. NO traffic, wide lanes, and long open turns.
I enjoy it more than Mt. Ham just ofr the reason that you can take it at pretty good speed especially if you go in the morning when NOBODY is ever out there. There's a nice little uphill section and a downhill section that has some huge radius turns. Then, of you go up the back of Mt. Ham, be prepared for hairpins upon hairpins. I once went op there and they spread gravel on the road for repaving. It was a long stretch too, talk about some sideways action.
On top of that, when you come to the fork in the road the Choices are Mt. Ham or Mines Road.... either way you win.
I've never seen any kind of law enforcement on Del Puerto, though I have seen few on Mines.
