Not to threadjack Brucelee, but can anyone tell me if its okay to switch to full synth after having used dino from 0-17k miles, then a dino/synth blend 17-21k miles?

Currently changed my oil with Eneos, but will be switching to Total for the next one 'cause it's what's readily available at Mann Engineering.

So the question remains, where can we stack up on this locally in the Bay Area or where can we get it at a good deal? So far I've only been using Amsoil and it seems to hold up very well.

I've used it for my race/track bikes. Kept the temps cooler and bike ran alot better. Thinking about using it for my Subie as well but it ain't cheap....
Again, another old school, good brand. We used this back in the 70's-80's in the Philippines for racing. I know they used to have ties (or still do) with Ferrari racing before.

what about motul, that **** is expensive, is it worth it?

im not gonna bash on the M1 cuz i dont know a ton about it, but i have used it my last 3 oil changes. the first time it came out very thin, almost watery, but it was my first oil change going from conventional to full syn. my next oil change i did about 500 miles sooner than i should of becuase i noticed that at about 1500 miles in i needed about a half quart.

my wife did comment that when following me she did see smoke come out the exhaust during hard accel when she was following me. this worried me because it had never happened when i was on conven. oil. anyway this oil change it wasnt as runny but it was def broken down

and then this last time i kept from accelerating hard as much as possible, no oil loss, however it did come out again rather thinner thn i had hoped. but now that i have used up my costco quantity of M1, i am looking for a new oil.

i will pry o with castrol unless someone recommends motul or something.

btw, with subaru why do people say to stay away from royal purple. i have always put it in previous cars and never had a problem, why does subaru say to steer clear
