I find shopping stressful. Especially, when there are more people out there than usual.

These sales are for xmas gifts. If you want to buy a TV in April and wait till xmas to give it to them, good on you. If I can save $400 for a TV to replace my dad's broken tv, then I don't mind standing in line for 4 or 5 hours with my buddy shooting the ****. I would have just spent that time sleeping anyway.

You guys forget that black friday isnt for you. Its the mark of christmas shopping, thus the reason why there is sales in the first place.

Fair enough. I just buy people I care about gifts based on their needs at anytime of the year, not simply because its the 'season of giving'. I guess I just don't care too much for feeling obligated to go buy buy buy at a certain time of the year.

I cannot imagine what it would take to get me to hang out at a mall or wait in a store line for hours.

Totally agree and I also don't think it makes sense to feel like you need to buy new stuff because of the time of year - the last new thing I bought was because I needed/wanted it - not because it was a specific date deemed by large corporations as a consumer day. I think that if I bought a TV on black friday I would feel like a sucker.

I went to The Great Mall at midnight. The lines to PAY at some stores like H&M were really absurd (yea, I waited cuz there was a sweater I really wanted). I heard from someone while shopping that a kid was trampled at one of the entrances during the midnight bum rush. The crowd even broke the damn door.

No need to get all super moral about it. It's just a sale. I don't think anyone you care about would think any less of you if you stood in line to save a few hundred dollars on xmas gifts. That's a terribly cynical way of thinking about it. If someone got you a gift from a black friday sale, would you think they were suckers? It's the season of giving; standing in line to save some money for stuff you were going to get later is hardly selling your soul.
