is anyone in bay area comfortable with adjusting the tie rods to make the wheel centered? without adjusting the toe of course
i would like to learn myself...so if anyone can spare 30 to an hour of their afternoon...please PM, e-mail or post here
i am in mid-pennisula (burlingame)

Yeah, I have a couple questions as well:
Do you have to use any special tools to prevent screwing up the bolts, because those suckers are torqued on pretty well (and for good reason I suppose).
About how much is toe adjusted for every turn of the adjusting bolt?
Thanks for the help, that is IF there are any people out there who can do this.

When I got my first performance alignment, Custom Alignment in Mountain View (probably the best guys on the peninsula) spent over an hour trying to dial it (it being the un-centered streering wheel) out of my car. They weren't able to do it and mentioned that the "center" position will actaually float a bit due to slop. I haven't experienced problems as a result. I just took my car to Auto Innovations yesterday to have another performance alignment done and my steering wheel is still off center (but the alignment is great). I don't let it bother me.
Cheers, Joe
