Anyone catch the Niners - Falcons game yesterday!?
I watched it tonight after Tivo'ing it, although it's yesterdays game, it's new for me...
This is one of the first Niners game I've seen in a while, I'm not a huge fan or anything but still root for them since they are from the bay area...
45 to 10, niners lose. Man, the Niners were sooooo outmatched that it wasn't even funny! Did anyone catch that incredibly stupid play by Dre Bly? OMG, WHAT A MORON!!! He started celebrating and waving his arms up in the air before he actually scored the touchdown and didn't see the tackle right behind him and gets totally creamed and fumbles the ball and falcons recover... Not that it would have made a difference because the niners lost by so much and that was towards the end of the game. There was def a bad call that led to a falcons touchedown and took away from a potential niners touchedown which def shifted the game big time... The refs said there was a fumble but it wasn't, but the Niners Singletary (coach) blew through all his time outs and couldn't contest it... Even still, the niners were so outmatched that they couldn't have really done anything to win that game.
I don't actually remember the last time when I saw the niners lose so badly when playing at home! I was almost embarassed to watch the niners play... It was like pro's vs joe's... Just terrible in every way for the Niners.
The falcons looked great out there though, so if you're a falcons fan, you gotta be happy about that crazy result.
Sorry if this has already been talked about but damn, I had to mention it, it was THAT BAD. Hell, I don't even think I've seen the Raiders play that badly!

Secondly; Matt Ryan is a great young QB with a lot of potential to make big plays and hurl it down field. Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez are good receivers as well.
Thirdly; we currently have our best RB injured which is the heart of our offense. Not to mention Ulbrich and Lewis weren't active.
However, our linebackers kept their run game at bay so Ryan had to pretty much take it to the air; unfortunately, our CBs didn't bring their A game with them.
And you think you haven't seen the Raiders play that bad? Are you on crack? They lost 44-7 to the Giants; granted the Giants are a great team and Super Bowl Champions, but if you look at the play by play and compare coaching and players between the Raiders and Niners - there is NO comparison; the Niners are a better team; and still #1 in our division.

Yes it was an absolutely painful game to watch. However I will have to agree with what's been said in that the Raiders actually are even more painful to watch and are actually a lot worse off then the 49ers. It's not do to a lack of talent on the Raiders though. Apparently Al Davis is going to Live or Die by Russell and all signs are pointing to being a completely terrible and inaccurate QB. You can't blame the Receivers for not catching the ball if it's not anywhere close to them and therefore not even a catchable ball to begin with.
Dre Bly is a Freakin' Moron and deserves to be in the Dog House for that idiotic play. He started celebrating when he wasn't anywhere near the End Zone. He also no longer has breakaway speed. On the flip-side though he got EASILY chased down by Roddy White. The same Roddy White that had already blown past our entire defense on that 90 yard score. Even more impressive is that Michael Jenkins came all the way across the field and got in front of both of our guys chasing Roddy White and blocked either one of them from being able to make a play (not like they could anyways as Roddy White really is that much faster then our guys).
We are definitely going to be needing to upgrade our Cornerback position and get some Corners that are faster then what we have now.
Matt Ryan really does have the potential to be the next Peyton Manning. He plays smart and really doesn't make mistakes. He has a high football IQ and does a ton of studying to see what the other team is going to be throwing at him so he can figure out how to dissect the Defensive formations and know what plays to go with.
As for Tony Romo and the Cowboys. Something has been out of sync with that team all season. However the guy is only in his 4th season as the starter for the team. He is an above average QB that will do well in the league and if the Cowboys get rid of him they may very well end up regretting that decision.
The botched Field Goal hold in the 2006 Wild Card Playoff Round is his fault, but I really blame the coach as Romo really should not have been out there for that play as the holder. Terrell Owens took a lot of heat and he may or may not have been a distraction for that team, but he probably was covering up a lot more holes then he was creating as the Cowboys do not look like the dominate team to beat in that division. Heck they are probably the 3rd best in that division right now behind the Giants and the Eagles. If anything that team really needs to get rid of Wade Phillips and get a better Head Coach - be it Jason Garrett, Mike Shanahan or another quality coach and then see how that improves that team.

The niners secondary is the reason why niners aren't 5-0.
The loss at Minnesota? Yeah. That was the secondary.
The loss to Atlanta? The big plays(roddy whtie) allowed by the secondary totally deflated the team. And Dre Bly.... don't even get me started on him.

Eh, Niners need to go work on a few things. They had a bunch of breaks go the other way... No timeout for challenge, Bly being an idiot (he did apologize on camera for everyone to see after the game) and a whole slew of other crap. Hill couldn't hit Davis. Poor tackling, hopefully by week 7 they'll correct most of those things.
