following someone is cool, but if you get too preoccupied with trying to keep up...well, it might put you in a bad situation.
know what you can, and cant do, and also be aware of the numerous external factors that are beyong your control.
you cant always take the best line when driving mountain passes, because there could be crap on the road. you cant hog both lanes for the perfect line, because an oncomming car could potentially kill you.
just be aware of the external factors which you have no control over, and integrate that in with the internal factors that you are in control of.
touge is the combination of the implications of real world scenerios which are uncontrollable and unexpected, and internal conditions which you do control yourself.

If you're ever in San Francisco, O'Shaughnessey to Twin Peaks is fun. When you reach the top, you get a nice view of the city too.
There's also that canyon in Colma across Highway 101 from Candestick (I always forget what the canyon's name is). You can access it from near the Serramonte car dealerships.
BTW, are you a Gundam fan?

Choku Dori-
Yup, love it.
Dorifto88-
Yeah, trust me, I know about the unexpected and uncontrolable...on the Feb 8th I-Club drive....KO'd a squirl and nearly a deer, and I was running on extremely ****ty tires that were way past bald. I have done many spirited drives, you just have to keep a sharp eye and like you said, not get caught up in trying to keep up.

calaveras is pretty fun but short, i think the main reason i like it is because i drive it alot and pretty much memorized every turn (work at spring valley golf course which is on that road)
also hamilton is scary if you've never driven a mountain road. driving on the street is alot different then doing consecutive turns really fast while on the edge of a cliff.
The road that im starting to like is Palameras, its like 10 minutes from my house and has alot of good consecutive turns through some of the sections. Also the road is in pretty good condition with alot of banked turns and im really starting to like my suspension after driving this road

calaveras is not a good road to drive fast on... it's mainly a single lane w/ tons of bikers.
going up hamilton is technical. the backside of hamilton, mines rd. is much faster.
pashnit.com
has tons of fun roads... i've probably been on only a dozen or so. got many more to try out.

If you go left here then yes it does become pretty narrow and you do have to watch out for other cars. If you continue straight it stays 2 laned but there arent many turns and the road only goes for another 5 miles or so.
