Best to throw your stock DP on, shouldn't need to re-flash just stay out of boost until you get your aftermarket DP back on.

I'd take it somewhere and get a pre test and see if they pass you. Best way to find out. Last 2 smog places i went to in Davis didn't really check ****. Or the way my old axleback looked, they just checked the sniffer.

Why are you surprised?

I took mine to a place with no cats at all, it didn't pass the sniffer but it didn't fail the visual. They didn't even mention it. I don't even think they noticed, because the mechanics there even tried to drive it around and warm it up to see if it'd pass. Eventually I ended up just getting the stock dp on there, and it passed, with stage 2 tune.

I'd imagine even some of the crazier setups would pass the sniffer if you have a cat on there because we only have to do the 2 speed idle, and at 2500 rpm there's no boost so a big turbo wouldn't matter. It's just a matter of if they pass you on visual.

Also, if you do reflash (which you shouldn't have to, since you don't have to drive like a maniac to get there), can't you just force it to be ready? Maybe that's not an option with the cobb, but you can do it with a tactrix.

It's a good idea to go to a place that will give you a free re-test (I dunno if they all do it, or just some), but I didn't have to pay for the second time I took it in.

I've done it with headers, up pipe, injectors, upgraded turbo. I put the stock DP and BOV and I passed this past July without reflashing my ECU.

And why is that?

Last time I went to get my car smogged (2 years ago), I still had my AP plugged in

Guy asked me what it was, told him it was an engine management system. He looks at me and says "good, so i guess you dont have any check engine light codes then"

then asked me where all my O2 sensors where and said that he;ll just take my word that they are there.

I was the first AWD subaru he had done in his shop

Ill be going back there within the next week or two to smog again

Why are people wondering why one would be surprised? This seems completely obvious.

Well apparently not to me and at least one other.

Why would a person be surprised about a thread on a exhaust/smog thread, on a car forum?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it's because almost every person on this forum has something illegal on their car?
