As reported earlier in the week on CLAYCORD.com, the Concord Police planned to hold what they call a "saturation enforcement" traffic operation. CPD planned to be all over Clayton Road to watch for law breakers, and issue tickets to those they catch.
That enforcement happened on Thursday, and the final numbers are now in. We get more from Lt. Steve Dyer with CPD....
The Traffic Division issued 78 citations during the 6 hour saturation effort. Due to unexpected occurrences, we had to shorten the detail.
Major road construction in both directions also thwarted our effort on Clayton Road.
Most of the citations were issued for speeding and red light violations.
He also says that weekly saturation efforts are being planned for the future in problem areas.
Thanks to Lt. Dyer for the information on the traffic operation.
THIS IS CRAZY I FIGURE ABOUT 250 DOLLARS EACH ON AVERAGE!!!! 20K? IN 1 DAY?? WOW
