Any one ever have there freon recharged?

My AC lines have a leak, so after I replace the lines Imma have to recharge my ac, how much have you guys paid for freon for the 2002 wrx?

I'm pretty sure they don't use freon anymore for AC systems....really horrible for the environment and all.

They use R-134a. Freon is a brand name for R-12 (old type of refrigerant, bad stuff) . Not sure what a shop would charge for a re-charge though.

I got quotes yesterday for a recharge from two shops specializing in recharing auto air conditioners. $195 and $175
