Any mtb'ers come on in...

Whats up guys, my Dh bike has sat for over a year now, and i just started riding it around again and my rear shock is all wack, Its a 5th element. Does anybody here have any clue how to tune these things for the rider? in the manual it keeps saying refer to the quick start guide, which i dont have. If anyone has any know how on these shocks post it up.

Thanks...

What kind of bike?

Usually, you set them for about 75-80% of rider weight, but thats on a race XC bike like mine.

We should have a BAIC mountain biking trip sometime - my brand new 2005 Santa Cruz Superlight should arrive in about 2 weeks!

I tune bikes for a living blur. Let me know if youd like your bike tuned. I can do simple tunes all the way to complete overhauls on just about any bicycle. Alot of times what your experienceing is normal from a bike thats been sitting for awhile.

I need to get out there too... but my bike, as well as me, are both out of tune. My bike sounds like a type writer when I ride... Bleh.

Homer Jay and I tore up a Trek/Gary Fischer demo day at Anadel today. It is always fun to play in the mud.

We should plan a Downieville trip this summer too!

I'm down for a BAIC mountain bike trip.
Any of you downhillers and freeriders check out http://msdhw.com/
It's the "Bay Area Downhill Freeride" forum. XC guys won't have much interest probably.

I have an 05 Specialized SX with a custom build. Just sold my 04 Turner DHR about a month ago. Let me know when and where you guys ride except I'm not into XC

Could you tune the 5th element, for my certain weight and stuff? the bike itself is fine chain is good and stuff, its just that 5th element has like 7 different adjustments.

I live here in San Jose, I work at Sportmart as a Technician (Bikes during the summer and Ski/Snowboard Tunes and repairs for Winter). Bring it by if you are in the area. If not, i have a portable stand, and tools. We could always meet, shoot the **** about cars while i tune.
