Any GOOD Subaru mechanics in the SantaCruz Area?
So my suby has been acting funny. I want a good suby mechanic to take a look at it. Someone who actually knows what to look for. A mechanic that can cover all basis. Basically someone like the tuners we have on here on iclub just closer to me. If anyone knows of a good spot near me lmk. Thanks ahead of time!

well closest i think is GST in hayward. Theres a shop here in monterey called Performance Cafe. They specialize in Euro cars and are really good too, but 1 of the mechanics worked on subies before.

Best Subaru mechanics in SC are SC Subaru and rick's.

If you need a tuner go to Mike. Haywards not that far.

SC subaru does good work, but the techs beat on my car when "test driving" it...he redlined 2nd and 3rd gettin onto 1 south, and then came back and had the nerve to tell me 3rd was slipping at high rpms...i was in for an oil change (cheap coupons they mail), dont see the need for a high speed test drive
ive never been back, i take my car to bay area vendors

thanks alot guys. This is not a tuning issue, It seems as if my clutch may be slippin'. But I just purchased the car three weeks ago. Is this something the dealership should replace? Has it been too long?

well if your looking for a good mechanic and cheap labor your way off......if the clutch is slipping try and go back to the dealer see if (and dont let them talk you out of it) they can replace the clutch cause it was already slipping, but then again I have heard you arround town .....nice!

Been going to SC for service since 03. Never a problem. Thy actually helped me fight soa on a warranty issue.
Go to rick's after the dealership tells you its a wear item and you're on your own.

Just talk **** to the dealership. Gonna get a call from them soon, will see what they say. But it is definatly the clutch. Does anyone recommend a decent clutch that wont rip a whole in my back pocket? I dont mind OEM clutch, but is there something better for a better price out there? Ive already started talking to MIKE (gst) and we are trying to set me up for a good day to go in and get the car checked out from head to toe. But for the mean while, whats a good clutch? Ive looked up tons of them but cant decide...
