Any college students looking to do internship in PUBLIC sector?
It is a non-paid intern position working for the City of San Jose. If you are interested, you can apply directly with my co-worker (information listed below). College Intern Position with the Neighborhood Development Center
Key Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a community service project. The intern program provides an opportunity for college student(s) to combine their college education with real-world work experience in the public sector. This is a non-paid position and falls under the requirements of a volunteer. The College Intern position involves assignments on a project basis for a set duration of time.
Typical Duties and Results
·Development of an individual work plan
·Participates in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a community service project
·Performs public contact and liaison work in explaining and interpreting program
·May conduct and facilitate meetings and/or workshops
·May perform research and analysis and prepare reports and recommendations
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
·Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
·Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the general public.
·Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
·Knowledge of basic computer skills
·Knowledge of report writing techniques
·Bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese a plus, but nor required
Education
·Graduation from high school and enrolled in college level coursework
